As a member of the Australian Institute of Marine Surveyors (A.I.M.S) and over 35 years in the marine industry with a Shipwright & Boat building background we offer a complete service for your vessel. Whether it is a small dingy or a large motor cruiser we offer a service that covers all your boating needs.

Marine Surveying

  • Insurance Survey Reports – Insurance Companies frequently require a vessel to be surveyed. The main purpose of the insurance survey is to ensure that your boat is a good risk for the insurance company. This is also a useful tool for the boat owner, as we can advise you of any issues that may be developing which gives you, the owner, the opportunity to rectify before your vessel lets you down or costs you money.
  • Pre-Purchase Reports – Before purchasing a vessel, obtaining a survey report is a must.  We can offer a pre-purchase inspection report for you. You will then know the current condition of the vessel. Whether the vessel is worth $5,000 or $500,000, you do not want to purchase someone else’s problems without knowing exactly what you’re up for. You will receive a detailed report of the vessel along with photos of any issues that maybe found and a recommendation for work that would be required to rectify these issues. This will also give you bargaining power when negotiating the final purchase price.
  • Valuation – Valuations are needed for a number of different reasons. For example, you may be over insured, costing you money on your premiums or worse, you may be under insured. You may be considering selling your vessel and would like to know what it is worth or you may just want to keep on top of what your asset is worth. You may require a valuation for a forced sale like probate or a marital separation. Whatever you need a valuation for we offer this service.
  • Damage Reports – Unfortunately, accidents can happen with boating, whether you have collided with another vessel, bump into a jetty or run aground. The purpose of a Damage Report is to investigate the circumstances leading up to the accident, the damage caused to the vessel and a plan for the vessels repair. The Damage Report can be passed straight on to your insurance company minimising evaluation time and getting you back on the water sooner.
